a story of encounters
Trone is primarily a story of encounters and French artisanal know-how.
The meeting with Lionel H, which led to our first colorful ceramic bowls. The discovery of Lionel T, who continues a family story in his cabinetmaking workshop in Arras. That of Frédéric, whose knowledge of metal and the precision of his production tools have allowed us to machine parts with minimal tolerances.
"Our needs are evolving and our search for expertise is now extending to Europe, particularly Italy, where we manufacture a large part of our ceramics."
ceramic princess
Ceramics is an ancient art, and its work requires a craftsmanship that is becoming rare. The slip (starting paste) is first poured into a plaster mold and then dried for about a week, depending on the season. Meanwhile, the grinding and mixing of the glazes take place, which later give it its color. Once the drying is complete, the glazing is applied to the raw piece. This is then fired in a kiln at 1270°C for 24 hours, which gives the ceramics of our wc design its translucency, its sound, and its strength.
the warmth of wood
Our WC are crafted from wood for the warmth this material offers when sitting and for its negligible environmental impact compared to plastic. They are then varnished to match their shade with the color of our ceramic toilets, and to ensure their durability and resistance to the daily wear from cleaning products.
the precision of the metal
To highlight the purity of the design of the tank of our WC design while ensuring optimal strength and quality, our
caps have been machined from aluminum. Drawing, machining, and then engraving are thus implemented to enhance them. A final surface treatment, by anodizing, gives them their definitive appearance as well as protection against shocks and cleaning products.
