Icone
Is there a seat on the toilets Icone?
The toilet seat, which covers the bowl, helps prevent water from splashing out during flushing. At Trone, we have carefully engineered the water flow to minimise splashing without the need for a toilet seat.
Contrary to popular belief, the toilet seat is not designed to prevent odours.
Finally, for aesthetic reasons, we have chosen not to offer a toilet seat for Icone. It would remain in the raised position most of the time, disrupting the clean lines of the cistern.
Icone’s cistern is made from PMMA, a transparent plastic. This material offers excellent long-term durability and good scratch resistance.
Why is the tank of the toilets Icone transparent?
The main reason is to raise awareness among everyone about our daily water consumption.
To then try to limit it, thanks to our water tank equipped with our patented technology, allowing for the precise injection of the necessary volume of water for each pass.
Is the water tank of the toilets Icone solid and durable?
Yes! Icone’s cistern is made from PMMA, a transparent plastic that is more impact-resistant than standard glass.
In the event of vandalism, the cistern may break, but the water supply is automatically shut off to help minimise the risk of water damage.
Can traces of limestone appear over time inside the tank of the toilets Icone?
Limescale deposits may form on the inner walls of the cistern, particularly around the waterline. However, on Icone, this area is concealed by the top cap, meaning any limescale marks remain out of sight in everyday use, preserving the cistern’s appearance.
The water remains at room temperature and is regularly replenished, which helps limit certain factors that contribute to limescale build-up, such as increased temperature and prolonged evaporation.
However, the risk of limescale deposits still depends on the water hardness and mineral content.
Why is an electrical connection necessary to install the toilets Icone?
To preserve the cleanest, most streamlined design possible, we have integrated an electric filling system directly into the toilet bowl. This system relies on an electronic unit that requires a power supply to operate.
Waterproof and compliant with safety standards, this unit contains a transformer, an electronic circuit board and a filling solenoid valve. It is connected to a float that detects the water level, allowing the system to automatically manage the cistern filling process.
Finally, this design choice also allows us to prepare for the future: Trone is exploring numerous innovations, some of which may also require an electrical power supply.
Is the installation of the toilets Icone complicated?
No! We have thoroughly tested and refined the installation process for Icone toilets to make it as simple and intuitive as possible.
At Trone, we are constantly looking for ways to make life easier for installers and plumbers. Every detail matters when it comes to simplifying their work and ensuring our toilets can be installed under the best possible conditions.
Is the toilets Icone bowl suspended?
No! The toilets Icone are floor-mounted toilets. Installing a wall-hung bowl requires the installation of a support frame, an expensive element that necessitates a reduction of about 15cm in the depth of the toilets cubicle (the partition must be moved forward to integrate this support frame behind the WC).
In order to facilitate the cleaning of the cabin in which the toilets Icone are installed, we opted for a geometrically very simple ergonomics and a wall-hugging bowl. The ceramic of the toilets Icone has no hard-to-reach corners, making cleaning around it easier!

Altesse
What is the difference between a washing WC and a Japanese WC?
None. In France, people often refer to a Japanese WC to mean a washing WC. The term “Japanese WC” has become common language, while “washing WC” is more accurate and precise: it refers to a WC equipped with a water washing function, designed to improve daily comfort and hygiene.
What is a Japanese WC?
A Japanese WC is a toilet equipped with advanced comfort and hygiene features, including water washing after use. Depending on the model, it may also offer warm air drying, a heated seat, personalized settings, or even automatic cleaning functions.
Is a Japanese WC more hygienic than a traditional WC?
Washing with water allows for a more precise, gentler, and more hygienic cleaning than using paper alone. It also provides a very different feeling of freshness and cleanliness every day. At Altesse, this experience is designed to be simple, discreet, and comfortable.
Is Altesse easy to use?
Yes. With Altesse, everything is designed to be intuitive. From the remote control, select the front or rear spray, then adjust your preferences: nozzle position, water temperature, spray intensity. Once the washing is finished, the warm air drying takes over. 4 buttons, nothing more.
Paper or not? How does the drying work at the end?
Altesse was designed to drastically reduce paper use. After washing, warm air drying can take over for added comfort. Some people use almost no paper, while others prefer to continue using it according to their habits. Everyone has their own comfort.
What are the functions of Altesse?
Altesse combines the essential features of a high-end Japanese WC:
- Water washing with front spray, rear spray, and oscillating spray
- Custom settings with 5 water temperatures, 5 spray intensities, and 5 nozzle positions
- Self-cleaning nozzle before and after each use
- Warm air drying to enhance comfort
- 2 user profiles to save your preferences
- Light under the bowl with three options: night mode, always on, or off
- Built-in deodorizer
- Smart descaling mode adapted to water hardness and usage frequency
- Particle filter to reduce heavy metals in the water
Can the water temperature, pressure, and jet position be adjusted?
Yes. For truly customized comfort, Altesse offers 5 water temperatures, 5 jet intensities, and 5 nozzle positions.
Can the settings be customized for multiple users?
Yes. The Altesse remote control allows you to save up to 2 user profiles.
Is Altesse compatible with the Kaoline flush-plate?
Yes. To harmoniously blend and ensure perfect consistency with Altesse, Trone offers you the Kaoline ceramic flush-plate, which you can find here. Please note, to install Kaoline, choose the SIGMA support frame models from the Geberit brand.
Who is Altesse suitable for?
Altesse is suitable for everyone. Children may need a little support at first, but then using it quickly becomes natural. Teenagers, adults, or seniors all find the same benefits: better hygiene and more comfort every day. For people with reduced mobility or who need assistance, Altesse can also provide greater independence and privacy.
Is Altesse compliant with PRM standards?
Altesse meets the seat height requirements of PRM standards. To comply, the height of the toilet bowl, including the seat, must be between 450 and 500 mm above the finished floor.
In accordance with the instructions in our installation manual, Altesse reaches a height of 470 mm, including the seat, and thus meets this criterion.
Is Altesse suitable for heavy use, such as in public access areas (ERP)?
Yes! Its ceramic, very commonly used in the design of bathroom fixtures, gives it strength, durability, thermal insulation, and ease of maintenance. Its seat and lid are made of duroplast to withstand the test of time and prevent impacts. To ensure its long-term effectiveness, we have tested our electronic module over more than 250,000 cycles.
Drinking water protection - Does Altesse meet the standards?
Yes. Altesse complies with the EN 1717 standard, which governs the protection of drinking water in installations connected to the network, preventing the risk of contamination by backflow.
Is Altesse easy to clean?
Yes. With Altesse, maintenance remains simple. The nozzle cleans itself automatically before and after each use, and can also be removed for manual cleaning if necessary. The seat and lid easily detach thanks to their quick release system and can be cleaned with pH-neutral products. As for the bowl, cleaning with water and soap is sufficient. For more details on recommended cleaning products, you can consult the Altesse technical sheet on our documentation page.
How is the nozzle cleaned?
You don’t have to do anything. The nozzle cleans itself automatically before and after each use. To descale it, simply unclip it and let it soak for 20 minutes in white vinegar.
What to do if Altesse no longer works?
If Altesse is no longer working, first consult the “Troubleshooting” section of its installation manual to identify and resolve the problem. If the malfunction persists, contact our team so we can assist you.
How to descale Altesse?
When the Altesse light turns red, it’s time to descale the electronic module. Lift the seat and lid and remove the cover of the electronic module. Simply unclip it by pulling it towards you. You can set it aside during the operation. Under the cover, you will find a button, the water tank opening, and a QR code. Scan this QR code to watch the explanatory video for the descaling mode. Press the button, a beep will sound. That’s it, Altesse starts the descaling cycle. The tank will then empty. When it’s finished, you will hear two beeps. You can then pour the descaling solution into the tank opening. Press the button again, you will hear a long beep: the tank fills, the water heats up to 39°C, and completely cleans the internal toilet pipes. Once the operation is complete, a long beep sounds. That’s it, the descaling cycle is finished. The red light goes off. Descaling takes about 20 minutes on average. The descaling mode doesn’t just clean the electronic module. The nozzle is also cleaned automatically. But if you start to notice a decrease in jet intensity, we recommend removing it and soaking it for 20 minutes in white vinegar.
How often should Altesse be descaled?
It all depends on how often you use it and the hardness of your water. From the remote control, you can adjust Altesse’s automatic descaling to your usage and the water hardness. At the time of installation, you can test the limescale content using the test strips provided with Altesse. We recommend doing this to then properly set the descaling mode of Altesse. For a private user, we suggest descaling every six months. In ERP spaces, select the highest usage level in the settings. The red light under the bowl will then indicate when to start the descaling cycle.
Can Altesse be used as a regular WC in case of a breakdown?
Yes, if the module stops working, Altesse can continue to be used as a classic WC.
What is the warranty for Altesse?
The Altesse warranty is two years.
Are the wear parts replaceable?
All Altesse parts are replaceable.
If the washing module malfunctions, simply send it back to us. We will conduct a thorough analysis to ensure its repair under the best conditions.
If the issue is due to breakage or misuse, it will not be covered by the warranty. The replacement of the affected part will then be your responsibility.
Is the installation of Altesse simple?
Yes. Installing Altesse is not complicated; it’s an installation like any other Japanese WC. However, it does require a connection to water and electricity to operate the washing module.
Is Altesse compatible with all support frames?
Yes! Altesse is compatible with any in-wall frame. If you want to pair it with our Kaoline flush-plate, choose the SIGMA in-wall frame models from the Geberit brand.
What costs should be expected for purchasing Altesse?
The operating costs of Altesse are very reasonable. On average, for each use, Altesse consumes between two and four liters of water, which is equivalent to a traditional toilet. Its electrical consumption is 1400W, equivalent to a coffee machine. Its daily use should cost you 50 euros per year. Please note that water and electricity costs may vary depending on the region and usage.
Kaoline
Does Kaoline install easily?
Yes! Kaoline installs just as easily as a standard flush-plate, provided you have a compatible Geberit Sigma concealed cistern frame. Once the frame is installed and the wall is in place, the Kaoline flush plate is easy to fit.
Does Kaoline adapt to all support structures?
No, Kaoline is compatible with the best-selling support frames on the market, namely the SIGMA models from the Geberit brand. Kaoline is not compatible with other Geberit models, nor with support frames from other brands.
Can I replace my flush-plate with Kaoline?
It depends on the concealed cistern frame your installer placed behind the partition. If it is a SIGMA model from Geberit, you can easily change your current flush plate and replace it with Kaoline. Just ask your installer to do so by following the steps in our installation manual here.
However, if your installer installed a different model of concealed cistern frame, from this brand or another, you will not be able to replace your flush plate with Kaoline.
Is the support frame provided with Kaoline?
No, Kaoline is sold without a support frame. Your installer can install any Sigma support frame from the Geberit brand to be able to fix Kaoline to the wall.
What volume of water is triggered when pressing Kaoline?
The flush volume depends on the settings of the in-wall frame: it can be configured for 2.5/4.5 L or 3/6 L. For optimal performance of Callipyge or Orgueil paired with Kaoline, we recommend setting it to 2.5 L for the small flush and 4.5 L for the large flush.
Is Kaoline easy to maintain and clean?
Very simple! First of all, because Kaoline is made of ceramic, a non-porous and extremely hygienic material. Then, because we chose to remove all the unnecessary frame of a traditional plate to keep only two buttons.
Where are the Kaoline control panels produced?
Our control panels are manufactured through the local supply chain, between France and Italy, to support local production, preserve traditional expertise, and ensure impeccable quality for you.
